BACKGROUND

Since March 16, 1991, the Seventh Street Community Theatre, home to Chino Community Theatre and Chino Community Children's Theatre, has utilized the City-owned, 99 seat, 4,999 square foot Seventh Street Community Theatre, located at 13123 7th Street, to conduct nationally recognized programs for the Chino community.

Because of the benefit these programs offer to the residents of Chino, and the fact that the City does not possess the expertise and ability to provide these programs, the City has entered into a partnership with the Chino Community Theatre and Chino Community Children's Theatre to offer a community theatre program in Chino.

The City has been able to provide the physical facilities the Chino Community Theatre and Chino Community Children’s Theatre requires in order to conduct a community theatre program.

ISSUES/ANALYSIS

Approval of this facilities use agreement will allow the continued operation of the Chino Community Theatre and Chino Community Children’s Theatre in the City owned Seventh Street Community Theatre.  The facilities use agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney.
