BACKGROUND
The City of Chino is fortunate to have multiple non-profits and community groups dedicated to serving the public and preserving Chino’s unique history. To assist in their ongoing efforts, the City Council from time to time, authorizes expenditures from the City’s community support fund. These expenditures serve a valid public purpose by helping to continue the outstanding services that these organizations provide to our community.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
To continue this tradition, Council Member Lucio recommends that the City Council approve the following contributions:
• Chino Kiwanis Club (Concerts) - $250 and (Corn Feed Run) - $250: Serves the Chino community through various services and citywide fundraising projects.
• Chino Youth Museum - $250: Interactive learning to foster a better understanding of tomorrow through appreciation of yesterday and today.
• Chino Valley Rotary Club (Bingo Event) - $250: Offers fun community events with proceeds earmarked to support community goals and initiatives.
• UCHOOZ Positive Youth - $500: Provides Positive activities and support for your in and around the Downtown Chino area.
By approving this contribution, the Chino Kiwanis Club, Chino Valley Rotary Club, Chino Youth Museum, and UCHOOZ Positive Youth will be better equipped to provide services to our community. Therefore, as proposed by Council Member Lucio, it is recommended that the City Council approve these community support contributions.
