RECOMMENDATION

1) Award a construction contract in the amount of $54,865.00 to Courts Construction Company, Inc., Glendora, CA for the City Hall Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology Offices Interior Improvement Project (PF210); 2) authorize expenditures of up to $5,486.00 for construction contingencies for a not-to-exceed contract amount of $60,351.00; and 3) authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents on behalf of the City.

BACKGROUND

The Fiscal Year 2023-24 Building Management Fund provides funding for the City Hall Improvements project (PF210).  As part of this project, offices will be created for the Information Technology, Finance, and Human Resources departments. The Information Technology deployment room will be converted into two offices to accommodate two new positions.  Also, Finance and Human Resources have new positions in need of office space.  To provide the needed office space, a Director’s office will be converted into two offices and an open workstation will be converted into a private office.  

 

ISSUES/ANALYSIS

Staff is recommending City Council authorize a construction contract in the amount of $54,865.00 to Courts Construction Company, Inc., Glendora, CA to construct four additional private offices in City Hall.  In addition to the contract amount, staff is requesting authorization to spend up to $5,486.00 for construction contingencies for unanticipated work, bringing the total potential construction contract to $60,351.00.
