BACKGROUND

The Fiscal Year 2024-25 Building Management Fund budget provides funding for repair and replacement projects.  Moore United Construction, Inc. is an approved contractor that possesses the knowledge, certifications, and expertise to complete all related services for a wide range of repair and replacement projects.  Moore United Construction, Inc. has completed several projects in Fiscal Year 2024-25, including an office improvement project at City Hall South and the removal and disposal of the trellises located west of the Senior Center.  Staff is currently requesting proposals for additional projects, including, but not limited to, flooring, restroom, and office upgrades.

ISSUES/ANALYSIS

Moore United Construction, Inc. is anticipated to exceed the existing vendor cap of $50,000 because they continue to be the lowest, most responsive bidder.  The requested increase of $100,000 for repair and replacement projects brings the total vendor cap for Moore United Construction, Inc. to $150,000.  City Council authorization is required as the combined total of purchase orders will exceed $50,000 authorized to one vendor.
