Adopt Resolution No. 2024-058 reciting the facts of the City of Chino General Municipal Election held on November 5, 2024, declaring the results and such other matters as provided by law.

FISCAL IMPACT
The actual cost of the election will be determined upon receipt of the final invoice from the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, anticipated to be received in April 2025. Based on historical election costs, $65,675 was budgeted for the election in the current fiscal year.

BACKGROUND
The City of Chino held a General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024 to elect a Council Member in District 1 for a full-term of four years; a Council Member in District 4 for a full term of four-years; and a Mayor for a full-term of four years. The election was conducted in accordance with the Elections Code of the State of California.
Additionally, pursuant to City Council Resolution No. 2024-025 adopted on June 4, 2024, the election was consolidated with the Statewide General Election and conducted by the County of San Bernardino Elections Department.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
The returns of the election have been canvassed and the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters has certified the results; the results are included as Exhibit A to Resolution No. 2024-058. Based on the County’s certified election results, Christopher A. Flores was elected Member of the City Council for District 1 for a full-term of four years; Karen C. Comstock was elected Member of the City Council for District 4 for a full term of four-years; and Eunice M. Ulloa was elected to the Office of Mayor for a full term of four-years.
Adoption of Resolution No. 2024-058 will satisfy the requirements to declare the results of the November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election and directs the City Clerk to execute a Certificate of Election and deliver same to each person elected and administer the Oath of Office to each person so elected.
