BACKGROUND
The Chino Community Services, Parks & Recreation (CSPR) Commission is a seven-member board that oversees and advises the City Council on specific quality of life issues. In particular, the CSPR Commission reviews recreation, parks and open space, and human services.

In June 2026, Commissioner Patricia Pereda Arlt resigned, creating a vacancy on the CSPR Commission. Pursuant to Chino Municipal Code Chapter 2.36, a vacancy on the CSPR Commission requires the position to be filled.

ISSUES/ANALYSIS
Commissioner Arlt was appointed in June 2023 and resigned in June 2026, during her third year of a four-year term. The notice of the unscheduled vacancy was posted on June 26, 2026, in accordance with the Maddy Act (Government Code Section 54974).

Upon resignation of Commission Arlt, the CSPR Commission membership includes representation from District 1 (1 member); District 2 (0 members); District 3 (2 members); District 4 (3 members).
