BACKGROUND
From time to time, the City Council has voted to cancel regularly scheduled meetings due to conflicts with events or holidays. The Tuesday, January 6, 2026 regular City Council meeting falls near the 2025 City holiday closure.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
City staff is recommending cancellation of this meeting due to the proximity of the agenda posting deadline and the meeting date to the City holiday closure. With the December 16, 2025 and January 20, 2026 regular meetings scheduled, there is no significant gap in meetings, allowing for the continuation of City business.
Should the City Council approve the cancellation of the Tuesday, January 6, 2026 meeting, the next regular meeting of the City Council would be held on January 20, 2026.
