BACKGROUND
Since 2016, EDM Recycling (the "Applicant") has been in operation at this location within a 100,014 square-foot industrial building, where it specializes in the collection, repair and refurbishment of electronic equipment from private businesses. The Applicant is now requesting approval to expand its operations to include the baling of electronic waste (e-waste) as part of its recycling process. With the proposed addition of e-waste baling activities, the nature of the operation is now categorized as a heavy processing recycling center and requires approval of a Special Conditional Use Permit (SCUP) by the Planning Commission.
