RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution No. 2025-015 to reclassify the full-time Water and Environmental Manager position to a full-time Engineering Manager position assigned to Water Resources in the Public Works Department.

FISCAL IMPACT
There will be an increase of $23,556 to the Enterprise Funds in the Public Works budget for FY25-26. There are sufficient funds available for this request.

BACKGROUND
The Human Resources/Risk Management Department routinely collaborates with departments to establish, revise, and delete job classifications. After an assessment of current operations in the Public Works Department, staff have identified the need for an Engineering Manager position to oversee water resources and water engineering projects.
The Public Works Department is responsible for water resources and water engineering services. As the number of water resources and water engineering projects continues to grow, state mandates and regulatory requirements have also increased. To address this, staff proposes reclassifying the vacant Water and Environmental Manager position to an Engineering Manager position.
