BACKGROUND
Ordinance 2026-008 and Ordinance 2026-009 were introduced on first reading by the City Council at its July 7, 2026 meeting.
During the presentation of the proposed ordinances, an amendment to Ordinance No. 2026-008 (Zoning) in table 20.306-4 Development Standards for Residential and Mixed Use Development in the Mixed Use Overlay (MUO) District was presented. The changes limit the height of 100% individual residential buildings to 40 feet with an additional height allowance up to 45 feet if designed with a sloped roof, which is consistent with the Development Standards for the Affordable Housing Overlay District.
Ordinance No. 2026-008 proposes amendments to Title 20 (Zoning) of the Chino Municipal Code, required to implement the 2045 General Plan and ensure the Plan and Code are consistent, as required under State law.
Ordinance No. 2026-009 proposes zoning map amendments for PL25-0108 (Zone Change), to include non-substantive corrections to the map and parcels to be rezoned in the City of Chino.
Once adopted on second reading, the Ordinances will go into effect thirty (30) days thereafter.
