RECOMMENDATION
Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement for as-needed Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) removal and reactivation services for the City's Water Treatment Facilities with Calgon Carbon Corporation (Contract 2026-096) for $350,000, for a total annual contract amount not to exceed $500,000; and authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents on behalf of the City.

FISCAL IMPACT
The cost of $350,000 for the additional anticipated services needed for the fiscal year is included in the FY 2025-26 Budget Water Fund (520).

BACKGROUND
??The City currently uses Calgon Carbon Corporation (Calgon Carbon) to provide Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) removal and reactivation services at the Eastside and Benson Water Treatment Facilities.
?GAC is a critical component of the City's water treatment process, used primarily to remove organic compounds, chlorine, chloramine, taste and odor compounds, and disinfection by-products (DBPs). The City specifically uses GAC to remove 1,2,3-trichloropropane (TCP) from groundwater to meet regulatory standards.
