BACKGROUND

Mayor and Council Members serve on various regional intergovernmental committees and boards representing the City of Chino. City Council Committee Assignments are reviewed every two years or as needed (Note: It is anticipated that the comprehensive City Council committee assignment list will be reviewed in December 2026). Council Member Christopher Flores represents the City of Chino on the West Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District Board of Trustees.

ISSUES/ANALYSIS

On January 1, 2026 Council Member Flores’ term on the Board of Trustees is due to expire. The WVMVCD has requested the re-appointment of Council Member Flores who has indicated his interest to be reappointed to another term. Therefore, City Council ratification of this reappointment for a two-year term is recommended.
