RECOMMENDATION
recommendation
1) Award a Professional Services Agreement in the amount of $212,240 to Architerra Design Group, Rancho Cucamonga, CA for design services for the Shady Grove Park Improvements Project (PK262); 2) authorize expenditures of up to $21,224 for project contingencies for a not-to-exceed potential contract amount of $233,464; 3) appropriate $133,464 to the Park Fund with a backfill from the General Fund reserves for a revised project budget of $233,464; and 4) authorize the City Manager to execute the necessary documents on behalf of the City.

FISCAL IMPACT
This additional appropriation of $133,464 for Shady Grove Park (PK262) is part of the Measure V Initiative and supports the City Council's commitment to allocating resources toward community park enhancement projects. There are sufficient General Fund reserves for this project.

BACKGROUND
In March 2024, Chino voters approved Measure V, a one-cent sales tax increase to fund essential City services, such as park improvements. During the same year, the Community Services, Parks & Recreation Department's Parks and Facilities Division completed a citywide assessment of playground equipment and safety surfacing at all City-owned and maintained parks.
